The City of Longmont Planning and Development Services Division is responsible for coordinating the overall growth and physical development of the City. In addition to preparing long-range plans for the City's future growth, the Planning and Development Services Division also coordinates the review of development applications.
Long Range Planning maintains the Longmont Area Comprehensive Plan, prepares special long range planning studies, manages the City's transportation planning efforts and participates on behalf of the City in regional planning activities. In addition, the Long Range Planning Section maintains statistical and demographic information about the City.
Operational Planning reviews development applications associated with the physical growth of the City. Applications such as annexations, zoning map amendments, subdivisions, residential, commercial and industrial developments are reviewed and coordinated by the Operational Planning staff. Operational Planning is also responsible for recommending amendments to the Land Development Code, as warranted
