Longmont Culture and Recreation

Ever since the city was incorporated in 1873, Longmont has continued to be the entertainment capital of Colorado. Longmont has been rich in culture and always had a variety of art galleries and museums to enjoy. In Boulder County there are numerous activity centers. Plus Longmont overlooks the valley of the St. Vrain River, which has some of the best fishing around. Since Longmont is less than a 15 minute drive to Boulder, it enjoys all the entertainment that Boulder has to offer as well.

Some of the best skiing in the nation can be found in the area. Boulder County is situated at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Local ski resorts enjoy some of the best snow in the nation. Another aspect to this diverse local economy is tourism. Each year the number of skiers and snowboarders coming into the area is growing. As the area has gained popularity with the snow crowd it has created a lot of new jobs.
