The Longmont EDP is charged with keeping the local economy strong. Part of that effort includes contacting all of our approximately 238 primary employers and our local businesses on an annual basis. The purpose of these meetings is to be visible and accessible to businesses in the Longmont area.

The goal of completing an update on an annual basis is to identify industry trends, gather strategic intelligence, address concerns, identify new opportunities and offer support.  These updates are performed annually from January to April.  Upon completion of the interviews, a full comprehensive report is generated.  To see a copy of that report, click here.
The Longmont EDP uses volunteers from it's Investor base to perform its annual Existing Business Updates.  These volunteers spend countless hours interviewing primary employers and local business on behalf of Longmont EDP and reporting their results.  The committee is nationally recognized for its efforts and is greatly appreciated by the Longmont EDP Board of Directors and staff for the time they dedicate to our organization.

The Commercial Brokers of Longmont assists the Longmont EDP in helping clients identify commercial real estate opportunities in Longmont and allow brokers an opportunity to expose their properties to each other and the Longmont EDP.  The group meets every other month with a guest speaker, opportunity to highlight "wants and needs" and networking. For more information, or to become a member, please contact Wendi Nafziger or simply click HERE to sign up.

In order to further support our local businesses, the Longmont EDP is forming a Local Business Advisory Committee as a means of receiving an on-going dialog around the challenges and opportunities of doing business in Longmont.  The committee will inform and receive support from the Longmont EDP staff and Board of Directors, as well as City Council. The committee will consist of appointed and nominated local business representatives who will meet monthly and hold a minimum of two-year terms.  This committee will take on projects of its choosing to assist and advise Longmont City Council on an "as needed" basis.  It is understood that challenges and opportunities may vary for individual businesses based on a number of factors including location in the city, type of business, and number of employees, so we are looking for a diverse set of local business representatives
